Lebanon County Historical Society is at 924 Cumberland St. The organization's Stoy Museum, which can only be seen on a guided tour, contains such reconstructed rooms as a drugstore, one-room schoolhouse, Victorian parlor and general store as well as exhibits about early industries and regional crafts. The front part of the building, constructed in the 1780s as a residence, was used from 1813-1818 as the county courthouse, where James Buchanan, the 15th U.S. president, practiced law as a young attorney. The building also houses the Hauck Research Archives.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
