AAA Editor Notes
Carpenters' Hall, 320 Chestnut St. within Independence National Historical Park, was lent by the Carpenters' Co. of Philadelphia for the First Continental Congress in 1774. Displays include a collection of early carpentry tools, portraits and photographs of many of The Carpenters' Company members, past and present, as well as chairs used by the Congress. Also featured is an extremely accurate model used to show 18th-century construction methods.
