AAA Editor Notes
Historic St. George's United Methodist Church, 235 N. 4th St. at the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, was dedicated in 1769 and is said to be the oldest Methodist church used continuously for worship. The church museum contains historic artifacts, including a bible presented to the church by Francis Asbury, one of the first Methodist bishops in the United States. A historical library and archives are available.

Donations. A fee is charged for research.

Museum and archives Mon.-Fri. 10-2. Sun. services at 10. Last admission for archives research 1 hour before closing. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
