AAA Editor Notes
Masonic Temple, 1 N. Broad St., was built 1868-73 and is one of the city's striking architectural landmarks. Each of the temple's seven lodge halls exemplifies a different architectural style—Corinthian, Ionic, Italian Renaissance, Norman, Gothic, Oriental and Egyptian. The hallways and stairways are enhanced by chandeliers, paintings, statuary and artwork. A large stained-glass window overlooks the marble grand staircase.

Tours of the building include the Grand Lodge Museum, which is a Byzantine room housing Masonic treasures. Included in the collection are jewels, George Washington's Masonic apron, furniture, Liverpool and Lowestoft ware, cut glass and statues by William Rush. Visitors must be accompanied by guides.

Guided tours are available.
