The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is at 19th St. and Benjamin Franklin Pkwy. Founded in 1812, the Academy is a leading natural history museum dedicated to advancing research, education and public engagement in biodiversity and environmental science. The academy connects people to nature through close encounters with animals, a tropical garden filled with butterflies, historic dioramas (animal habitats), science experts and the towering dinosaurs that the museum is known for. Temporary exhibits, a children’s interactive nature center, films and special programs also are offered.
