Kids will love the staff's period costumes, but I enjoy the history of dining in place formerly patronized by John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
AAA Inspector Notes
Many a founding father patronized the original City Tavern, which opened its doors on a prominent Independence Square spot in 1773. The tradition continues today in this re-creation, which aptly captures the Colonial spirit and style of its predecessor. Enjoy unique 18th century dishes such as lobster pie served in a pewter pot, roast lamb or venison, glazed duck, fried oysters or Sally Lunn bread.
