Green Gables Heritage Place is w. of Hwy. 13 on Hwy. 6 at 8619 Cavendish Rd., part of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Cavendish National Historic Site. Immortalized in Lucy Maud Montgomery's “Anne of Green Gables,” the site is affiliated with Prince Edward Island National Park.

The farm was the home of David Jr. and Margaret Macneill, cousins of Montgomery's grandfather. The house is furnished in late 19th-century style, and outbuildings reflect the Victorian period. The Haunted Woods, Lovers Lane and Balsam Hollow walking trails, as described in the book, are on the grounds. An introductory film about the site is shown in the barn. In summer, guests can participate in such activities as story time, singalongs, arts and crafts, games and races, and a Sunday picnic. A visitors center contains exhibits. Bilingual guide services in English and French are available.

Guided tours are available. Food is available.
