AAA Editor Notes
Museum of Hospitallers of the Hospital of Montréal (Musée des Hospitalières de l'Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal) is at 201 av. des Pins Ouest. Exhibits detail the history of the Hospitallers of St. Joseph, nursing sisters who arrived in the city in 1659. The once-cloistered group staffed the city's first hospital, l'Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal, which was established by early Catholic settlers and remains in use. A 17th-century staircase imported from France is among the museum's some 20,000 artifacts.

Additional displays focus on the origins of early medicine, medical procedures pioneered in Montréal and the founding of the city's nursing school. Guided tours are available by appointment.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
