Museum of the Proud People: Montréal Museum of Industrial and Working-Class History

AAA Editor Notes
Museum of the Proud People: Montréal Museum of Industrial and Working-Class History (Écomusée du Fier Monde: Musée d'Histoire Industrielle et Ouvrière de Montréal) is at 2050 Amherst St. (M: Berri-UQAM). Housed in a grand restored 1920s building, the museum presents the effects of the Industrial Revolution on the Centre-Sud, one of Montréal's oldest working-class neighborhoods.

The building once was the Généreux public bath, which the city's low-income and often exploited workers and their families used prior to the inclusion of baths and showers in modern homes. Additional displays focus on the quality of life at the time and the endeavors undertaken to improve it and the neighborhood's safety conditions.
