In addition to exhibits, it offers educational and cultural activities. The museum holds one of the largest collections of Canadian fashion in the world and purportedly the second largest costume collection in Canada. Other highlights include an extensive collection of photographs and documentaries, a collection on the history of first peoples and a large collection of nearly 1.5 million artifacts. Changing exhibits also are offered.
