In the Wayland Square area on the trendy East Side, this French bistro is hard to miss, especially with its oversize chrome fork hanging over the door. Although this is a popular restaurant for brunch, it also offers a nice lunch and dinner menu. Among delicious 'originals' are the grilled cheese created with prosciutto, poached pear and basil and served with oven-roasted tomato soup or hand-cut fries and aioli. Not to be missed are luscious desserts such as chocolate espresso cheesecake. Or try the bananas tarte Tatin, which folds caramelized bananas into a puff pastry with cinnamon-raisin ice cream. The décor perfectly blends traditional elements, as in the black-and-white-tiled floor, with modern ones, including the open bar and kitchen.
