Santee State Park is 3 mi. n.w. off SR 6 at 251 State Park Rd. A popular fishing spot for locals, the 2,500-acre park is located along Lake Marion, which is home to bass, crappie and catfish. Other recreational activities include bird-watching, geocaching and tennis. In addition to its three nature trails (each a mile-long loop), the park also offers a 7.5-mile biking/hiking trail.

A visitor center features exhibits about the site's natural and cultural history. Two-hour narrated tours of Stumphole Swamp conducted by Fisheagle Tours also offer visitors deeper insight into the area's ecology and history.

Guided tours are available. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
