Bear Butte State Park is 6 mi. n.e. on SRs 34 and 79. The 1,945-acre park is at the northern end of the 111-mile Centennial Trail, a hiking and riding trail that winds through the Black Hills to Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park. The park is known for a volcanic laccolith (bubble) rising 1,400 feet above the surrounding plains that is still regarded by the Plains Indians as a sacred site.

Note: Pets are not permitted on the trail. A kennel service is provided.

Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
