W.H. Over Museum of Natural and Cultural History is 1 blk. e. of the Dakota Dome at 1110 N. University St. Items relating to South Dakota's natural and cultural history are on display. Featured exhibits include the Norgren Natural History Gallery of the Northern Plains, photographs of the Dakota Territory by Stanley Morrow, mounted animals from the William Heubaum collection and Sioux and pioneer artifacts.

A discovery room, the Lewis and Clark Learning Center, a Lakota family camp diorama and changing exhibits are featured in Sletwold Hall.
