In a historic hotel, this dining room has been restored to reflect its original character. Ceiling arches, columns, inset oak panel walls and upscale decorative accents are combined with traditional appointments to create an elegant, comfortable setting. The Southern cuisine is accented by an imaginative combination of fresh local and regional ingredients, sourced from the restaurant's cattle and produce farm. Courses are artfully presented to stimulate both the eye and the palate. Heirloom seeds from the 1890s were planted by the chef and his team to help create a menu that is authentic to the area. The menu changes seasonally to incorporate the freshest ingredients whenever possible. Sweet onion bisque with miniature Brie cheese, bacon and chives is divine, as is the elk tenderloin with a parsnip purée. Feast your eyes on the patrons, too. Country stars sometimes celebrate a special occasion at this restaurant.
