Excelsior House is at 211 W. Austin St. Built by Capt. William Perry in 1850, the hotel welcomed such notable guests as Jay Gould, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes and Oscar Wilde. In addition to the guest registers on view in the lobby, displays feature original documents and furniture.
