Calhoun County Museum is at 301 S. Ann St. The museum features local history exhibits including prehistoric Native American tools and items recovered from La Belle, one of French explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle's ships, which sank off the coast in 1686. Other displays describe the Karankawa Indians and German immigration into Texas by way of the nearby port city of Indianola.
