The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment is off I-35 exit 206, then w. to 201 San Marcos Springs Dr. Glass-bottom boats take visitors over the San Marcos Springs, which produce 150 million gallons of artesian water a day. The Natural Aquarium displays endangered species, and a wetlands walkway, nature trails and historic sites are on the grounds. Spring Lake Hall, next to Spring Lake at the headwaters of the San Marcos River, features interactive exhibits about Texas' waterways. Guided kayak tours also are available.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
