South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center

South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center is at 6801 Padre Blvd. Boardwalks and nature trails winding through intertidal flats, salt marshes, dune meadows and wooded areas; a five-story observation tower; and five blinds afford views of waterfowl and such migratory birds as peregrine falcons, thrushes and warblers. Visitors also can participate in bird walks and educational programs and enjoy the center's movies, hands-on exhibits and butterfly garden.
