Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is at 200 S. 2nd St. In the 1898 Old Post Office & Customs House, the museum's architecture consists of Italianate ornamentation, a pyramidal slate roof, Romanesque arches and guardian eagles. Permanent exhibits include a restored 1842 log house, a tobacco exhibit, children's hands-on exhibits in the Explorers' Gallery, art galleries, an extensive porcelain collection, a bubble cave and model train exhibits.

Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.

$7; $5 (ages 65+ and college students with ID); $3 (ages 6-18); free (to all second Sat. of the month).
Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. 1-5. Model trains run Sun. 1-4. Explorers' Gallery and bubble cave close at 4:30. Closed major holidays.
