Fort Worth Zoo is off I-30 exit University Dr. S., then e. to 1989 Colonial Pkwy. Ranked as one of the nation's top zoos, the 64-acre complex is home to more than 7,000 animals from around the world. Visitors can stroll through the Museum of Living Art (MOLA), which houses more than 100 species of amphibians and reptiles.

Other exhibits include World of Primates, Asian Falls, African Savannah, Raptor Canyon, Parrot Paradise and Meerkat Mounds. More than 1,000 indigenous animals are featured at Texas Wild!, an 8-acre exhibit that re-creates an 1890s pioneer town and six geographic regions of the Lone Star State. Visitors also can hop aboard the Yellow Rose Express miniature train or take a ride on the Country Carousel. In the summer, guests can enjoy the 14,000-square-foot Safari Splash water park.

Rental strollers and motorized scooters are available.

Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours, 30 minutes minimum.
