Morgan's Wonderland is off I-35 at 5223 David Edwards Dr. Inspired by the developer's daughter, this 25-acre theme park was designed with special-needs individuals in mind but is chock-full of activities, rides and themed areas for everyone to enjoy. Upon arrival visitors can obtain a GPS Adventure Band that tracks their location, allowing parents and caregivers peace of mind from the get-go.
Ride the Off-Road Adventure Ride and traverse a winding 1,800-foot-long track, take a trip on the Wonderland Express train, or ride a horse or wheelchair-friendly chariot on the colorful carousel or get a panoramic view from Whirling Wonder, a Ferris wheel that reaches five-and-one-half-stories high. Pirate- and butterfly-themed playgrounds, adaptive swings, a gigantic sandbox, a music garden and indoor gym add to the fun.
Shoot water cannons or do some catch-and-release fishing at The Wharf. The interactive Sensory Village, designed to stimulate the imagination and senses, boasts a grocery, theater, car repair shop, TV station and stable. Need a little break? “Escape” to a foreign country in one of several themed rest areas on the Walk and Roll Path that parallels the park’s lakeshore.
During the summer, Morgan's Inspiration Island features five tropical-themed splash pads, a river boat adventure ride and other interactive elements.
Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
