San Antonio Missions National Historical Park includes four sites throughout the city; the visitor center is at 6701 San Jose Dr. next to Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo. With the Alamo, these 18th-century missions were Spain's outposts along its northern frontier. A park map is available at the visitor center, which offers an orientation film and exhibits. Ranger-led walks and programs take place at the visitor center. All four of the properties have active, Catholic parishes and hold weekly services (English and Spanish) in these historic churches.

A riverside paved hiking and biking trail connects all of the missions. Each mission is about 2.5 miles from the next. Be sure to bring water and sunscreen as temperatures can exceed 103 degrees in the summer. Cell phone tours are available for all four missions. Contact the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Office for information; phone (210) 207-2111.

Note: Extreme summer temperatures can bring heat indexes to unsafe levels which can effect ranger programs.

Guided tours are available. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Picnicking is permitted.
