What a wonderful setting along the river with close proximity to many attractions. The wood grains and warmth of the place make this one of my faves.
AAA Inspector Notes
Handmade furnishings, queen-size beds and some rooms with fireplaces reflect a Colonial-style ambience at this 1740 inn. It's in a wonderful rural setting and a river runs along the property line. There's a bridge for fishing and a tremendous garden area. Museums, shops, caverns and battlefield sites are nearby. The owners take a personal interest in breakfast each morning. The style is comfortable—not too formal, not too casual, just the right mix. The original building was built in the 1740s and was renovated several times in the 20th century. It has a been a haven and landmark in the Shenandoah Valley for most of that time. Smoke free premises. 12 units. 2 stories (no elevator), interior/exterior corridors.
