Hampton CVB
AAA Editor Notes
St. John’s Episcopal Church is at 100 W. Queens Way. Built in 1728, the church houses what is said to be the nation’s oldest English-speaking congregation in continuous existence. The parish, founded in 1610, still uses its most precious relics—Communion silver that dates from 1618.

The stained glass window depicting the baptism of Pocahontas was donated in 1887 by Native American students at Hampton Normal & Agricultural Institute (now Hampton University). The parish museum contains artifacts from four previous sites, including a 1599 Bible and a 1632 prayer book.
