AAA Editor Notes
I-90 Floating Bridges span Lake Washington. The twin floating bridges are among the world's largest and carry I-90 traffic between Seattle and Mercer Island. The Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge (south span) opened in 1940, was destroyed by a storm in 1990 and reopened in 1993. The Homer M. Hadley Memorial Bridge (north span) opened to traffic in 1989. A walkway along the north side of the north span is open to pedestrians and bicycles.
