South Seattle College Arboretum is on the South Seattle College campus, 6000 16th Ave. S.W., just w. of the Seattle Chinese Garden. Designed, built and maintained by students in the college's Landscape Horticulture Program, this 6-acre green space is divided into themed areas connected by gravel paths. In addition to collections of dwarf conifers, rhododendrons, ferns, roses and perennials, there is a Sensory Garden showcasing fragrant, textural and edible plants. A gazebo in a landscaped setting overlooks the Seattle skyline and Elliott Bay.
