AAA Editor Notes
Wright Park is bounded by Division and 6th aves. and I and G sts. The land for the park was donated to the city in 1886. Designed in the classic tradition of a pastoral English public park, this is a delightful urban green space with rolling green lawns shaded by horse chestnut, maple, pine and Pacific madrona trees, blue spruces and deodar cedars.

Wright Park has some interesting statues. Reproductions of Antonio Canova's “Dancing Girl” statues flank the Division Avenue entrance. They, along with the two lions guarding the 6th Avenue entrance, were gifts to the city in 1892. A bronze bust of Henrik Ibsen was dedicated May 17, 1913, the 99th anniversary of Norway's independence. The sculpture “Trilogy” stands on an island in the middle of a small duck pond; it depicts three youngsters romping hand in hand, just like their real-life running, swinging and playing counterparts.

Picnicking is permitted.
