I am enthralled with the stunning beauty and historic feel of this hotel. Especially noteworthy is the Northern Lights Dome Room used for meetings.
AAA Inspector Notes
Close to sports venues and Pioneer Square, this historic hotel was once a social club for businessmen who found fortune in the Klondike Gold Rush. Look for a dignified lobby and modern guest rooms. When you step into the paneled lobby, you will see reminders of another era, including autographed photos of founders and a collection of top hats that once protected their heads from the Seattle rain. The ballroom is an expansive statement of Edwardian opulence. Upstairs, check out the room number plates; each has an engraved figurine of a walrus to mimic the large busts mounted around the exterior of the building, another reminder of the days when Seattle was the seaport gateway to the Great North.
