Milwaukee Public Museum is at 800 W. Wells St. Natural and cultural history are featured on three floors of walk-through exhibits and galleries. Visitors can stroll through a large diorama with life-size dinosaur models, explore North Native American history and visit Egyptian mummies up close. Other walk-through exhibits include a Costa Rican rainforest, streets re-creating turn-of-the-20th-century Milwaukee and a tropical garden filled with hundreds of live butterflies. The museum houses the Daniel M. Soref National Geographic Dome Theater and Planetarium and features traveling exhibitions.

Guided tours are available. Food is available.
