AAA Editor Notes
Peninsula State Park is 2 mi. n.e. on SR 42. Established in 1909, Peninsula has 150-foot-high rocky bluffs and 8 miles of shoreline on Green Bay. A favorite with campers, the state park also draws those in search of hiking and biking (the park has 20 miles of trails), boating, fishing, picnicking, bird-watching and golfing (18 holes) in summer and cross-country skiing, sledding, tubing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing in winter.

Nature lovers will want to visit the park's two state natural areas, White Cedar Forest and Beech Maple Forest, as well as the White Cedar Nature Center, which has historic photos, mounted animals and birds and summer nature programs. If you're lucky, you might spot a deer wandering nearby.

Touring the historic Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum and boating to Horseshoe Island are also popular activities. In summer catch one of the original 90-minute musical productions presented by the Northern Sky Theater at the park's outdoor amphitheater.

Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
