AAA Editor Notes
Door County Maritime Museum is on the waterfront at 120 N. Madison Ave. Exhibits span the nautical history of Door County from early Native American canoes to post-World War II bulk carriers and yachts. The museum features a model ship gallery, a small craft workshop, a lighthouse exhibit, an art gallery and vintage outboard motors and marine engines. The pilot house from a Great Lakes ore carrier is on display, part of the exhibit entitled Ghosts! Haunted Lighthouses of the Great Lakes. The nuclear ballistic submarine periscope offers a bay area view. Tours of the 150-foot tug John Purves are offered seasonally.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
