AAA Editor Notes
Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre is 2 km (1.2 mi.) e. on the Alaska Hwy. to Km-post 1473 (mi. 886) by Whitehorse Airport. An area of the Yukon, Alaska and Siberia never covered by glaciers during the ice age, Beringia is believed to be the route traveled by the first peoples who entered the Americas from Asia.

Fossils, life-size animal and first peoples exhibits, interactive computer kiosks, and murals and dioramas of Beringia’s landscape illustrate the area's history, geographical events and culture, from the ice age to the present. Highlights include fossils of woolly mammoths, scimitar cats, giant beavers, short-faced bears and steppe bison. A diorama depicts the Bluefish Caves, an important North American archeological site.

Guided tours are available.
