Boston Park Plaza opened in 1927 as the Statler Hotel and was the eighth largest hotel in the world for the next 50 years. Its Back Bay location was once beachfront where British troops landed for the Battle of Lexington. A $100 million renovation of the AAA Four Diamond® Inspector Pick was completed in 2016, adding modern amenities such as a 20,000-square-foot fitness center and Smart TVs while maintaining its iconic architectural details.

This AAA Failed in a previous production cycle property was the first hotel in the Back Bay neighborhood when it was built in 1891. The recently renovated boutique charmer was the election headquarters for President William McKinley, and baseball legend Babe Ruth is among the many celebrity guests who have stayed here.

This AAA Four Diamond hotel, built in 1900 in the Beaux Arts style, was once the tallest building in Boston at 11 stories. A decade-long, $50 million renovation restored the property to reflect the décor of the early 20th century. Host to many celebrities over the years, it features a suite named after Judy Garland, who once stayed there for 3 months.

Step inside this AAA Four Diamond hotel in Boston’s West End and you’ll discover hints of its original purpose. Built as the Charles Street Jail in 1851, it once housed some of Boston’s most notorious criminals. A 5-year, $150 million renovation transformed the building into luxury accommodations while keeping original architectural details such as the guards’ catwalks, wrought iron on the windows and jail cells in the restaurant.

Though it’s now a AAA Four Diamond hotel, engraved letters across the stone facade of this 1920s Back Bay jewel declare its original purpose: City of Boston Police Department Headquarters. Black and white photos displayed in the lobby offer glimpses into the building’s past.
