Inspector Picks: All-Inclusive Resorts Offer Luxurious Beach Vacations

1. Beaches Negril Resort & Spa
Negril, Jamaica
AAA Inspector 450: I believe they think of everything here, from a nanny service to the cool scratch DJ studio and a cover over the kiddie pool to protect tender skin.
Marvelous for both families and adults, this lovely all-inclusive resort is well laid out with an amazing water park. There are many room categories which range in size, but all have tasteful décor. Concierge suites with extra services are also available. In addition to all of the traditional land and water resort activities, you will find a great Xbox play lounge and sailing lessons for children and adults. There is also a comprehensive kid's camp area for all ages which is autism certified by the IBCCES. The best feature at the great water park is the giant bucket, which fills with water and then, at the sound of a bell, dumps it over anyone underneath; it's very refreshing and fun.
2. Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
AAA Inspector 16: Beautiful, lush grounds include a pretty little lake where flamingos, parrots and peacocks strut their stuff. This is always a highlight for me.
This lovely all-inclusive resort has an enormous free-form pool, one of the largest on the island. The standard rooms are small but bright and appealing with a love seat and a balcony or patio. The kids and teens clubs are parent-free zones and offer plenty of activities. The kids area has a little waterslide and a great playground, while the teens have their own spot with archery, bungee jumping, rock climbing, a sports court and batting cages.
3. Hyatt Ziva Cancun
Cancun, Mexico
AAA Inspector 594: This is where I'm bringing my family! A spa for us old folk, a brewpub for Gen X and a sweet shop for the grandkids.
This hotel sits between two great swimming beaches and is within walking distance to local nightlife and shopping venues. Rooms are spacious and trendy, featuring plenty of upscale amenities. This is the only all-inclusive property in the area with a brewpub on premise, which showcases a rotating selection of house-made brews. Kids and the young at heart can make cotton candy and play with the chocolate fountain at the on-site sweet shop.
4. Sanctuary Cap Cana by Playa Hotels & Resorts
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
AAA Inspector 16: If I had just one last place to go, this might be it. Fantastic food, beautiful rooms and wonderful service are just the tip of the iceberg.
This gorgeous all-inclusive resort has a historical feel with breathtaking areas. Suites are found in three distinct sections. All are marvelous in their own ways and many have unbelievable sea views. From the Colonial suites to the castle suites and the villas, all units have a full living room area and well-enhanced bathrooms with separate shower and tub. Make sure you wander around and find all the relaxing spots. The spa is glorious and the hydrotherapy area is worth a visit. One of the latest features is the Century Town complex, which features a gallery of small eateries in addition to a gourmet coffee bar, ice cream parlor, cigar lounge, beer tasting room and a Spanish tapas bar. Guests also enjoy privileges at the property's other resorts in the area.
5. Sandals Montego Bay
Montego Bay, Jamaica
AAA Inspector 450: If I was to get married, I'd pick this beach resort where I could have the ceremony in a beautiful little chapel and still have some sun and sand fun.
On a half mile of beautiful private beach, this all-inclusive, couples-only resort has upscale guest rooms and lovely spacious suites. Luxury services are provided with the top-tier room categories. There's a plethora of activities and dining options here.
6. Spice Island Beach Resort
St. George'S, Grenada
AAA Inspector 503: What stands out amid the luxury and privacy for me is the royal treatment provided by the staff, epitomizing a very high standard of excellence.
Situated on a gorgeous white-sand beach, this all-inclusive resort has richly decorated, luxurious suites with furnished balconies or terraces. Some units also come with private plunge pools and four-poster canopy beds. The suites, tucked among private gardens dotted by lemon, almond and sea grape trees, are spread out in several buildings and afford very nice privacy.
