Birmingham heralds spring in late April or early May with the ONB Magic City Art Connection , an outdoor art show and festival held in Linn Park. Food, wine, music and workshops accompany the art exhibits.
Barber Motorsports Park holds various automotive events. In late April the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama , an IZOD IndyCar Series event, takes place. In mid-September there is the 3-day MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Race Championship Round 10 . The Barber Vintage Festival is a 3-day event held in early October and offers vintage motorcycles, a parts swap meet and stunt performances.
Other city events include the 3-day Greek Food Festival in October. The Southern Women's Show at Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in early October is a 4-day event focused on women's issues—from topics as important as health and fitness to lighter subjects like fashion and makeovers.
Throughout December you can experience Zoolight Safari , a train ride showcasing the zoo's 500,000 lights that twinkle to holiday music, at Birmingham Zoo.
Start out the year with the Birmingham Bowl . Held in early January at Legion Field, the football event is a match-up between teams from the American Athletic and Southeastern conferences.
