Dana-Thomas House State Historic Site

Dana-Thomas House State Historic Site, 301 E. Lawrence Ave., was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for socialite Susan Lawrence Dana of Springfield. Built 1902-04, the home is one of Wright's first major Prairie-style houses and one of the most elaborate in terms of size, detailing, art glass and furnishings. Particularly noteworthy are more than 100 pieces of original Wright-designed furniture and 450 examples of art glass doors, windows, panels and lamps. Entrance is by guided tour only. Tours include a 10-minute video presentation. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
