New Jersey State House is at 125 W. State St. A gold dome crowns the 1792 building, which has undergone many changes since its construction. Visitors can view the rotunda, legislative chambers, caucus rooms and the governor's reception room, all of which have noteworthy decorative treatments. Collections of art and period rooms also can be seen. Note: Visitors must show a photo ID and undergo a security screening. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
