Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is on Tram Way, 3 mi. s.w. of SR 111. The tramway provides passengers 360-degree views as they are transported from Valley Station (2,642 ft.) 2.5 miles to Mountain Station (8,516 ft.). Located within Mount San Jacinto State Park, Mountain Station has access to more than 50 miles of trails and has observation decks, two theaters and a natural history museum. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing (snow conditions permitting) are available in winter, and hiking and camping are available in summer. Pets are not permitted. Note: The tramway is closed 1 to 3 weeks in Sept. Phone to verify schedule. Food is available.
