Santa Monica Pier is at the corner of Ocean and Colorado aves. Opened in 1909, the pier features shops, restaurants, a fishing pier, Heal the Bay Aquarium and Pacific Park amusement park. The historic Looff Hippodrome building, designed and built by renowned carousel designer Charles Looff in 1916, houses an antique carousel with ornate, hand-carved wooden horses. A concert series is offered Thursday evenings early July to early September. Guided tours are available. Food is available.
