How to Get There
Santa Rita Winery is located 9 miles (15 kilometers) from Santiago. To get there by public transportation, take metro Line 1 to Los Héroes station and transfer to Bus 5010 toward Buin. For ease, visit on a guided tour with included transportation.
When to Get There
The winery is open Tuesday to Sunday. Plan to arrive 20 minutes before your tour is scheduled to begin. The busiest time to visit tends to be in April (autumn in the Southern Hemisphere) for the annual grape harvest.
The Andean Museum
The Santa Rita Winery is home to the Andean Museum (Museo Andino), a museum showcasing a collection of some 3,000 archeological and ethnographic artifacts dating back to the pre-Columbian era from the people who once inhabited the area. Exhibits are organized by Chilean geography, starting in the Arica region and finishing with the Equestrian Campesino. There are also areas dedicated to Easter Island and the arts of textile and gold smithing.
