Upper Geyser Basin is on the main park road between Madison and West Thumb. The area surrounding Old Faithful Lodge contains the world's largest concentration of geysers, including the star of the show, Old Faithful. Other geysers such as Grand and Riverside are less frequent but equally spectacular. Boardwalks and paved trails allow visitors to walk within safe distance of geysers, fumaroles, hot springs and mud pots across the basin. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
