Vermilionville is off I-10 exit 103A, 3.5 mi. s. on US 167 (becomes S.W. Evangeline Throughway), .5 mi. e. on Surrey St. then .2 mi. w. to 300 Fisher Rd. This heritage and folklife park brings to life the early days of Acadian, Creole and Native American settlers from the mid-1700s to late 1800s. The 23-acre park features costumed craftspeople, demonstrations, live music and jam sessions and restored homes and reproductions. Guided tours and cooking demonstrations are offered by advance reservation. Guided boat tours of the Bayou Vermilion are available in spring and fall. Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
