Valletta is one of the top visited cities in Malta whether coming from Italy or traveling on a Mediterranean cruise. Here, foodies, outdoor adventurers and history buffs alike will be delighted by this destination. Valletta was founded by the Knights of St. John in the 16th century, and this warm weather locale has lots of historical sites, namely St. John's Co-Cathedral. Once inside, tour the winding streets on foot or hire a horse-drawn carriage. St. Paul's Cathedral with its baroque elements, the panoramic views from atop the ramparts and the Palazzo Falson that dates back to the 13th century are only some of the things to do in Mdina.
