Rough first impression. Called upon landing to dispatch the airport shuttle. After 40 minutes I called back and the front desk seemed surprised the driver wasn’t there yet and was going to check on them. The call disconnected before they could give me an update. The shuttle arrived 5 minutes later. While checking in another guest called and in overheard that guest say they also were waiting for 40 minutes for the shuttle. This hotel needs to manage their shuttle better. After checking in, went to wait for the elevator to find only one of the two worked. The wait wasn’t that terrible but heard from other guests the hotel seems to alternate which elevator works. Once we got to the room, the room was great. Some signs of wear and tear over overall clean and comfortable. Check-out was seamless. We checked back in after our cruise and even though check-in is at 3pm, they had our room ready at 10am. Great service there! Go and wait for the elevator and find again that only one elevator worked and it was the other one. Again, room was clean, had a few more signs of wear and tear but overall clean and comfortable. The big issue came at heading down to check-out. Both guest elevators were out so had to go down the hall into the housekeeping closet to use the service elevator which drops off near the parking lot and had to walk around to get to the front desk. Upon telling the front desk they need to find a new elevator service vendor, the front desk manager said it isn’t the vendor. The elevators have been having issues for about 2 years and the owners are cheap and don’t want to pay the money to fix them. Huge red flag here. Thankfully I’m not in a situation where I need the elevator to get around, but I worry about those who are and find themselves in a sticky situation because the owners of this hotel refuse to properly maintain the elevators. If you are going to need the elevators, stay somewhere else!
Staff were all very pleasant. Convenient shuttle from the Airport no charge. Shuttle to the cruise terminal convenient and inexpensive. Room was great, spacious and clean. Convenient restaurant in the hotel. Food was fine.
Not a welcoming staff environment. Only 1 girl driver was excellent.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. The front staff was VERY rude, and when I inquired about an early check-in, (I have medication that requires refrigeration) they put me on a wait list, but other people were getting right in, as well as people who had been waitlisted after us (I saw the list). After an hours wait (it was 10 to 3, their check-in time) I was told "my kind of room wasn't ready yet". My travel agent had booked us a double queen. When we finally got our room I found that we were given an ADA room. So, that told me what she meant by "my kind of room". If you have any kind of physical issues avoid this place like the plague. I had also been told that breakfast was complementary and it wasn't. It was way to overpriced for what other places do for free for all guests. I was told I was booked on a AAA package (that's who my travel agent is through and she's good) and we don't qualify for the breakfast coupon. I will NEVER stay at another IGH hotel again.
