A fresh, modern option in Boston’s desirable Back Bay neighborhood, this renovated hotel provides a convenient home base within walking distance of the Prudential Center, Copley Square, Newbury Street, Northeastern University and Symphony Hall. Guest rooms are spacious and contemporary, and the on-site parking garage is a welcome convenience in this busy part of the city. A light complimentary continental breakfast of packaged baked goods, fruit, coffee, tea and juice is provided each morning. Travelers should be aware that the older building operates on a seasonal one-pipe heating and cooling system, with heat typically activated in October and air conditioning beginning in April. Bathrooms retain older tub/shower combinations with somewhat low overhead clearance, which taller guests may find a bit snug. An exterior elevator provides access to most accommodations, while some rooms are reached by a slower accessibility lift; staff can assist with luggage, but guests with mobility concerns should request a room with direct elevator access. Despite these quirks, the central location, nearby public transportation and generally reasonable rates make this a practical choice for travelers looking to explore Boston without the premium price tag often associated with Back Bay.
