What to Do in Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve

Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve (Réserve de parc national de l'Archipel-de-Mingan) consists of a group of 1,000 islands off the north shore of the St. Lawrence Gulf and is accessible by boat from Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan and Havre-St-Pierre. The archipelago, which is north of Anticosti Island (Île d'Anticosti) in the Jacques Cartier Strait, stretches about 150 kilometres (93 mi.) and was formed mostly from sedimentary rock. Erosion by the sea has resulted in spectacular rock formations; the monoliths are the most popular.
