Lake Ontario's North Shore Scenic Drive Road Trip

65.6 miles: 1 hours, 57 minutes

Coast along the eastern portion of Lake Ontario's North Shore Scenic Drive (PR 3), offering intermittent views of the vast Great Lake and inner bays. Slip through picturesque Picton, Bloomfield and Wellington, where you'll find quaint shops, historic houses, artisanal restaurants and art galleries. If you time your trip just right, you may even see the northern lights.

The first half of Lake Ontario's North Shore Scenic Drive (PR 33) hugs the Lake Ontario shore. Between Bath and Amherstview, allow for leg stretching at turnouts with pretty views of the sailboat-speckled lake and Amherst Island. Cruise past small towns, farms and wineries; near Wellington there are 30-plus wineries. Expect some ferry crossings along the way.
