North Cascades Scenic Highway

103.8 miles: 2 hours, 3 minutes

Seasonal route: The road is subject to closure in winter. This astounding route—comprised of forests, mountains, rocks, lakes and rivers—is a national treasure. The North Cascades Highway (SR 20) journeys through Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake National Recreation Area and Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.

Glaciers are responsible for much of the landscape surrounding the North Cascades Highway (SR 20). Mountains dominate the horizon, forests populate the area, and you can see the Skagit and Methow rivers running just beyond the road at certain points. Take advantage of scenic overlooks along the way.
