Overview
ON THIS TOUR you will be visiting the two great monuments ... while taking the most scenic routes possible. Added to this tour: Iron Mountain Road, there are tunnels designed specifically to frame Mount Rushmore in the distance. And the Pigtail Bridges (these are the spiral bridges that loop over themselves). Also added is the beautiful Sylvan Lake and Washingtons Profile. At Mt Rushmore, we tour the facility and explain its history. You will have time to self explore, take in the movie and exhibits and visit the gift shop. At Crazy Horse is the Indian Museum of North America (14,000 pieces of Native American art). There is a wonderful 20 movie about its history and the famous family who made this all come to life. You will have time to explore the museum and spend time in the gift shop. On our return to Deadwood, we drive through the 'bad boy' town of Hill City. Once a town of noted violence and debauchery . . . it is now our most 'artsy' location with local artists and museums.
